Will the housing market recover?

Unless you've aligned yourself with the ultra-extremist, you know the housing market will soon take an upward turn.  There's no way to predict exactly when that will happen, there are too many things that can and will affect how and when it will re-emerge.  But you know that it will and the more energized and optimistic you are about its return, the more successful you'll be both while you're waiting and when it does return.  As Dianna Brouthers said at a recent training, "the market is what it is and you cant wish it into anything different".  So look for the opportunities that exist or can be created now and you'll be positioned perfectly out ahead of the pack to land some great deals when the market takes a quick drastic turn for the better.  Do you have a better option?

Why Stage a Home?

During a training event today with Natasha Little of ShowHomes Greenville, she said something that really hit the nail on the head.  To help sellers understand how important and necessary a show ready home is, tell them "this is what the sophisticated buyer in today's marketplace want and expect".  That statement makes it clear and leaves little room to argue why staging makes sense.  To do anything less, sets the stage for disappointment.

Are you a Sheepwalker?

A sheepwalker, as defined by Seth Godin, is someone who fights to protect the status quo at all costs, never asking if obedience is doing you any good!!!  Too many REALTORS do things simply because they think they are supposed to or because everyone else is doing it.  Dont ask simply what they are doing, ask what they are doing that is producing desired results.  Dont follow the pack that is going over the edge of the mountain (failure), instead be sure you are following the 20% of REALTORS that are actually successful.
